Military Command & Strategic Leadership

As a Major General in the Indian Army with over 37 years of distinguished service, I led operations, maintenance, and large-scale procurement programmes across multiple strategic domains. My role as Commander of the Army Base Workshop Group involved managing 8 manufacturing and repair units with over 12,000 technical personnel and a turnover exceeding ₹2,500 crore. I was responsible for the lifecycle management of a wide range of mission-critical platforms — including tanks and armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs), artillery systems, aviation assets, radars, secure communication networks, and high-end C4I and electronic warfare systems.

This experience instilled in me an unwavering commitment to operational excellence, strategic foresight, and indigenisation — values that now guide my advisory work across India’s defence and dual-use industrial sectors.

Corporate Leadership in Defence Manufacturing

Following my transition from military service, I assumed corporate leadership roles focused on advancing India’s defence manufacturing capabilities. At Bharat Forge, I was entrusted with leading marquee programmes including the Light Tank, Future Artillery Systems, and advanced aerospace and defence precision manufacturing initiatives. I oversaw the integration of lightweight materials, forging technologies, and mission-critical subsystems in line with evolving battlefield requirements.

My role extended to managing high-impact Joint Ventures (JVs), conducting global technology scans, and facilitating strategic dialogues with European OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. This included sourcing advanced materials such as AMS-grade alloys, evaluating proprietary technologies, and framing localisation roadmaps in compliance with DAP 2020 and offset frameworks.

With a strong command over the policy-to-execution landscape, I helped shape indigenisation strategies, forged cross-border collaborations, and advised on investment models aligned with the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions.

Strategic Defence Consulting

My consulting practice is designed to deliver clarity, structure, and momentum to defence and aerospace clients navigating India’s complex procurement and indigenisation landscape. I work with global OEMs, Indian industry leaders, and startups to shape strategies for market entry, platform localisation, and procurement alignment.

Projects span a wide range of domains including anti-drone systems, AR/VR-based simulators, electro-optics, and sensor fusion. I support clients in evaluating JV and ToT opportunities, framing offset-compliant proposals, and conducting strategic manufacturing assessments in sync with national defence priorities.

With a deep understanding of DAP 2020, technology readiness, and stakeholder ecosystems, I help transform intent into executable programmes. Whether it’s enabling a startup’s first defence contract or helping an OEM localise a platform, my approach is grounded in domain depth, regulatory foresight, and results-focused engagement.

I routinely advise global investment banks, mutual funds, and top-tier consulting firms — including Big 4 strategy practices — on India’s defence, aerospace, and dual-use industrial sectors.
